Completed: 1996 Size: 150,000 S.F. Big Bear Arena is the home of the Soo Indians Junior “A” Ontario Hockey League team. This 2 ice rink facility has 1,100 seats on the Olympic rink and 500 seats on the NHL rink. Due to poor soil conditions, the entire complex was engineered and built on pilings and grade beams. Big Bear Arena also contains a full health club with amenities such as a dedicated volleyball court, dedicated basketball court, aerobics room, whirlpool and steam rooms in addition to an exercise room. The rink area amenities include multi-purpose rooms, 2 concessions, pro shop and 12 locker rooms.
